I can figure massive tape rolls loaded into the X-ray cannons in future space ships.
Now, you see, THAT'S what those big, massive cartridges the cannons were ejecting in RotS were! Giant, fast-rolling cartridges of Scotch Tape!
The Rebellion then later upgraded to Duct Tape, giving them a mutch-needed weapons superiority over the Imperials, to counter the Empire's numerical advantage.
