Below is a primitive manual version of the forum index based on what threads/pages I saved via strangely variable techniques. You will find that most stuff should look right, but almost anything on the pages you can press is inoperative because this is not a live forum, but saved, static pages. I've edited them so that the page numbering works, and the index links (including the logo picture) generally work, bringing you back here. Subforum links (e.g. to the Star Wars subforum) do not work, nor does anything else board-specific like Reply (duh), Profiles, et cetera.

Naturally, many external links are broken due to age, though Wayback may help. Also, one guy referenced pictures extensively using only text links to images housed at Geocities which shut down in 2009 . . . just so you know, I've tried to look for a few of them on Wayback and even Oocities, to no avail. If you see those or any other broken links but find what you want via Wayback or whatever, let me know and I can maybe update the saved page to make it work. Now, on with the show:

In chronological order by first post available:
Date
Thread Title
Pages
Notes
2005-0228
"Scaling of Imperial Destroyers" 17
The very reason for this project.
2005-0325
"Alderaan shield" 5

2005-0327
"Death Star 1 size" 2

2005-0427
"Deconstructing the Seismic Charge"
1
Fascinating conceptual analysis of one of the most unusual weapons in Star Wars.
2005-0604
"Millenium Falcon dimensions"
2
In which the TIE that goes through the Falcon's dish in RotJ is observed.
2005-0605
"Super Star Destroyer length"

1st Only
Unfortunately, mostly just a collection of dead Geocities picture links.
2005-0801
"Star Wars Galaxy Size"
5

2005-1006
"Planetary Shields"
7

2005-1012
"Death Star Shields"
4
On the requirements, if any, of Death Star shielding relating to Alderaan.
An interesting question is presented of actual on-screen firing range based on superlaser speed and camera distance from Alderaan, worth following up on.
2005-1018
"Is backstage info canon?"
5th Only
I apparently chose to save my little stump speech on the topic.
2005-1021
"The size of Imperial Star Destroyers"
2
Discusses Republic Attack Cruisers with some Super Star Destroyer notes.
2005-1103
"Photon Torpedoes size, perspective, and... stuff :)"
3
Kazeite's excellent 3-D demo work here . . . I had forgotten it and was working on doing the same thing in Sketchup in 2011-ish.
It was also discussed in 2007 on StarfleetJedi but with different images.
Also, I totally lose all patience with some guy who refuses to admit the obvious, but we kiss and make up at the end somehow.
2005-1116
"Scaling fun: A-Wing"
3
Excellent thread . . . A-wings are really quite tiny.

It also contains a link to a video I made via a forgotten method I've been trying to recall for years.
2005-1212
"Federation Computer Security"
1
A quick little thread.
2005-1212
"Canon Issues: Anyone, Anytime, Anywhere"
9
I was feeling pretty punchy after the Trek authors had attacked en masse on TrekBBS.
2005-1212
"Size of Borg cube"
1
Excellent thread on cube minimum dimensions, basically recreated in 2012 on StarfleetJedi in the "Scaling the Borg Cube from "Q Who?"" thread.
This is one of the many examples where so much community research was lost when the forum disappeared.
2005-1217
"The "Superlaser Effect" and the "No sheild&qu"
6

2005-1220
"The Strategic Misquote"

5
A discussion of how the EU-philic inflationists could never seem to quote things properly, and that it seemed more than mere coincidence.
2005-1229
"Federation Communications"
1st Only
A spiffy thread on subspace comm speed, a topic I never seem to have the appropriate interest in tackling.
Note also BHMM's interesting thought of carrier speed versus signal speed.
2005-1230
"Star Wars Diesel Engines"
2nd Only
I presumably saved this just so I had the assorted references I gave, which is sad since I don't think I had them handy when I later wrote the Imperial Power Generation page, instead finding stuff all over again. (sigh)
2005-1230
"What a Gas?: Star Wars as Steampunk"
1
A somewhat off-the-wall idea, though now I'm thinking of how the prequels had an art deco feel so it kinda makes more sense. Not as "steampunk", mind you, but as a sort of WW2-punk.

(If you have ended up here directly somehow, return to the STrek-v-SWars.Net Forum Page, or if you're already on it then press it anyway to divide the universe by zero.)
